E4500 BSEL mod – SUCCESS!

I couldn’t find much detail on results of users successfully doing the BSEL mod on the E4500’s. Anyone have successfully done it? Would it need any voltage bumps?
So far there has only been one report of it being successful on ocforums.

Update: More reports are showing up. Here’s one that shows this m0 stepping chip to be quite an overclocker– if you have the cooling for it.
I will be setting up my chip shortly in a P5LD2 v.2 ECS leftover mobo from a fry’s deal. Just waiting for the CoolerMaster HyperTX2 to arrive now. Will keep you guys informed of my results.

Update2: BSEL modded E4500 running successfully in an ECS PT890T-A. Running reliably at 2.93ghz with 5 minutes of BSEL modding! 🙂 Idles @ 43c on stock cooler, with no system fan installed, yet. This will be going into production, running a SQL after a couple of days of burn in.

Update 3: This post has turned into a popular search result, so obviously many of you are trying (or have tried) the same. Please post results! I would like to know just how far you guys have been able to push this gem reliably. I can’t overdo it since it will become a production box, but I wouldn’t mind getting another just for kicks 🙂

Update 4: The chip has been running reliably for the past few days with no problems at all.  Some digging around the net shows that the bundled ECS 945GZT-M doesn’t like the BSEL mod… doh!  I would suggest waiting for the chip to be bundled with one of the VIA boards if you are interested in this budget rocket combo.

  1. hi, can you please post details on how did you the BSEL modification on E4500 ? Which pins are to be connected ? Please explain the details of the procedure for the E4500 (or please provide a link where it’s explained in detail for E4500). Thanks

  2. Cool i just bought Intel e4500, it would be thankful if you gave the link or he pic, E4500 bsel mod, or just the same like E4300.. thanks in advance

  3. Hmm… It is somewhat unclear whether the procedure for the E4300 BSEL mod is the same with E4500. Are you sure that they are the same? And what kind of clock speeds might we expect?

  4. Just to verify, I rec my Dell Vostro 200 today w/ e4500 and the mod worked. The voltage and temp are fine. Comes up as 2.93Ghz on benchmark programs.
